From the Foster:

My name is Apple and I'm ready to find a forever family that will give me the unconditional love I so very much deserve. My life hasn't always been easy, and I have the scars to prove it. The things I've been through are in my past though and I haven't let it interrupt my passion for life, and for cuddling! I came to my foster mom heartworm positive, with unhealed wounds, and a heart murmur. I've finished my heartworm treatments and I'm doing well - if you have any questions about that, please ask. My wounds are healed up too!

I still have that puppy mentality so my foster mom has been teaching me manners but I do need some more work. I know how to sit and lay down, and I do well on walks if I'm wearing a gentle leader (otherwise I get really excited and want to pull my mom to walk faster)

I am potty trained and I know how to ring the bell on the door to tell you when I need to go. When I came to my foster mom I was already crate trained, but my foster mom noticed after a while that I  was starting to get anxiety and really preferred being out of my kennel when she was gone at work. At first I was having accidents both in the crate and on the floor when left out, but then my foster mom put me in a room next to the resident dogs separated by a baby gate and I haven't had any accidents since then! I guess I just like being close to my friends.

I get along great with both cats and dogs. Because my resident dogs help me stay calm when my foster mom leaves I'd probably benefit a lot from having another dog in my new home. My favorite thing to do is lick my resident dog's faces and try to entice them to play with me, so I'd do best with dogs that don't care too much about their personal space. :)

I've been around kids of all ages and have done well with them too, though there are some things to consider. I still like to play nip (though I'm getting better) and I also get nervous from other people's body language sometimes. My foster mom believes this is because of some of the things I experienced before I was rescued. It is important that the home I go to understands this and is able to supply an environment where I feel safe at all times. For these reasons I should be in a home with older children who have been taught how to respect animals and won't create a very noisy, hectic space around me.

I'm the sweetest girl you'll every meet. My favorite things in life are my walks, my food, and cuddling on the couch (I'm the BEST cuddler) I'm looking for a cuddle buddy who can show me there's no reason to ever be afraid again. I hope that buddy is you!
